SUBJECT: Life Cycle Cost (LCC) Modeling Effort
We would like to commend MDTS for developing a
comprehensive LCC tracking and accounting model. We recognize that MDTS has expended a considerable amount of time and effort into selecting the best tools for the job. Selecting the Automated Cost Estimating Integrated Tools (ACEIT) modeling software for LCC, demonstrates that MDTS understands the complexities of building an LCC management tool that is flexible and useful both to MDTS and to the government. It is obvious that MDTS has put the appropriate amount of emphasis on this LCC effort. The methodologies used in developing the parameters of ACEIT are sound and verifiable--allowing many types of "what if" analyses/ exercises to be run without altering the basic ACEIT modeling structure.
We would like to further extend our appreciation to all the MDTS personnel that played a role in ensuring the ACEIT modules and submodules are populated with the appropriate level of detail to allow tracking and auditing of the pragmatic inputs. Additionally, we would like to express a special thanks to Mr. Raymond Moore for the time and energy that he has dedicated to the C-17 ATS LCC program in building
the algorithms used to interrrelate the different Work Breakdown Structure elements and sub-elements. It is clear to us in ASC/YWMG that a tremendous amount of insight as well as foresight has gone into developing this very unique modeling tool.It is a pleasure to work with a contractor that has this very noteworthy LCC modeling quality.
